Taking inspiration from Australian Traveller Magazine, we thought we’d reblog some of their key findings on the Noosa Gourmet Food Trail. For the original version please click here. But for your convenience we’ve provided a snapshot of these wonderful ideas to add to your holiday experience in Noosa.

The gourmet food trail in Noosa starts at Tony's

The gourmet food trail in Noosa starts at Noosa Reds

  1. Visit the source: Tony Meijer, grower at Noosa Reds, supplies many restaurants around the Sunshine Coast his famous vine ripened tomatoes. Always the purist, Tony never picks the tomatoes green – Contact: Tony (07) 5449 1668 or noosareds@bigpond.com

  2. Head to Belmondos Whole Foods for a superb cup of coffee. The roasters use fine Arabica grounds and the milk for your latte is sourced locally from the nearby Maleny Dairies. Belmondos is a veritable gourmet food warehouse stacked with oils, cured meats, olives etc.

  3. River-front dining on Hastings Street. Food in Noosa is certainly not all just about the beachfront. Take a short ferry ride up the river to Rickys, an elegant river-bank restaurant where executive chef Glenn Bowman specialises in fresh; his delicate tuna sashimi is just one example delicious coming out of Rickys.

  4. Sunday in Noosa: Noosa Farmers’ Market. A wide range of Noosa’s freshest produce (and gourmet fare). Held at The Noosa Australian Rules Football Club between 7am and 12pm.

  5. Another Hastings Street restaurant: not just any restaurant, but one of the best has to be Berardo’s. The Uber-white interior signals fine dining, but the atmosphere is as casual and no need for black tie here. French chef Geoffroy Marcq has cooked in two-Michelin-star kitchens. Combine with the freshest Noosa produce and culinary magic happens.
